Okay, my last post was disgusting. Seriously. I'm sorry guys. Lets just put that behind us.
So, it's day 23 of Ramadhan. Another seven days before Muslims around the world celebrate Eid or as Malaysians call it, Hari Raya. It has been an enjoyable Ramadhan with me spending more time with the family. I just realized that I rarely eat at home and I should because I get to have the most amazing food cooked by mum and the best part is it's free!
It's Short and Sweet time again! This year I'll be directing AND my play has been selected for the festival. I am proud to say that out of 19 submissions, my play, Wati dan Puan is the only play in Malay that was selected.* Booya! I'll be directing Impromptu by Daphne Lee, a story about a woman who yearns for attention from the men in her life(well, this is how I see it). I'm in the midst of casting it and it's been quite stressful. I've just had two actors turn me down due to scheduling conflicts. I must be patient and have faith that it will be okay. The idea of directing is scary -I just have to be confident and trust my actors when rehearsals begin.
It's almost my fifth month working at the new job and I must say I like it. It isn't too stressful, my colleagues are really nice and it's only five minutes away from where I live! My friends have even noticed that unlike my previous jobs, I rarely bitch about my current job. In fact, never! So, I hope to be doing this for quite some time. It's stable, stress free and gives me the opportunity to pursue my other passion (theatre) on the side.
Best I stop here before this post ends up being too long too read. I hope to be blogging again soon. So, watch this space and have a good day.
*a play in Malay is NOT a Malay play.
